Editing your profile: the essentials

Your profile is your first impression — a clear avatar, a tight bio, and good links pull organizers in. This guide walks through every essential field on your dashboard so your public page looks complete in under 10 minutes. Works for every role (Music Artist, Performer, Decorator, Shops, Photo/Video, Worker, Volunteer, Organizer).

Open your Account

Log in to Psytrance Artist → click your avatar in the top-right corner → Account. The dashboard opens on the Account tab where every profile you own is listed.

Open the profile you want to edit

If you have only one profile it opens straight into the Edit form. With multiple profiles (e.g. producer + live band) pick the one you want from the profile list and click Edit. Each profile is edited separately.

Upload your avatar

Square image, recommended 500×500 px, max 1 MB. JPG / PNG / WebP accepted — we convert to WebP server-side automatically. Use a clear face shot or logo: it appears on your profile, in search results, and on your favourites card.

Add a banner

Landscape image, recommended 1500×500 px, max 1 MB. Same format rules as the avatar. This is the wide hero image behind your name on the public profile page — pick something on-brand (stage shot, artwork, photo).

Set your display name and identity

Display name is what appears as your H1 on the public profile — use your stage name. For Music Artists, also pick your role (Producer, DJ, or Live Band) and add your label / crew / "Independent".

Pin your location

Type your city and pick a country from the dropdown. Location powers the directory filters — organizers search by country and city to find artists in their region, so a missing or vague location buries your profile.

Write your bio

Up to 500 characters. A live counter under the textarea turns pink when you go over. Lead with what makes you different — sound, style, key gigs, releases. Avoid generic filler like "music is my passion" — every artist says that.

Add a booking / contact email

This email never appears publicly — it's only used for the internal messaging form on your profile. Organizers contact you through the form and we forward to this address. Keep it monitored.

Link your socials

Paste full URLs (https://...) into the social fields you use: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Website. Leave blank what you don't use — empty fields don't render on the public profile.

Save and preview

Hit "Save profile" at the bottom — a green confirmation slides in at the top. Then click "View profile" (or visit /artist/your-slug/) in a new tab to see exactly what the public sees.
